Armour for SCA Heavy Combat
What this is
This is my scheme for building SCA heavy combat armour. This is intended as a rough guide for people wanting to build a relatively light, comfortable and good looking set of armour without spending a fortune.
What this is not
While the armour I have has not cost me a great deal of money this is not necessarily the cheapest way of doing things. The cost of different bits of armour varies dramatically depending on where you are and what local stores, materials, etc you have access to.
This is certainly not the only way of doing things. Beware of people who espouse any one "way" that things must be done in reference to combat, armouring, or anything else. Go to as many sources as you can; take what ideas work for you, and discard the rest. If there is an idea in these pages that helps you find and build the armour you want then that's all good.
These are not all my ideas. As with anyone involved in the SCA I have learned many things from people to numerous to list here. All I have done is to collect what worked for me and put it here in the hope that it is useful.
